work attire #4 : Leather Collar Worker

Finally settling into my new job, it is VERY different from my old one. For a start I can have an extra few hours lay in thanks to the 20 minute drive to work opposed to the 1.5 hour train joruney to work!

 

The office is much more casual than my previous job so my outfits are due to get more relaxed as I go on! In my first week I wore skirts, lots of black and heels. I'm currently sitting here in a big chunky knit jumper and jeans!

 

A HUGE thank you to you lovely 200 girls who now follow my blog. It only took me 2 years to reach this milestone but we did it! Thanks girls!

atrocious quality photos, pretty jewels

One thing I went completely crazy for in America was F21, I literally loved everything about it, the way they merchandise, the layout of their stores, the variation of products between stores, but most of all how cheap it was! Not one of these necklaces below cost more than $7. How insane is that? One of them cost $4.80. I mean hellloooooooo how could you not spend $100s?? 

My favourite by far has to be the blue cross, followed by the purple stone (it is all glittery and sparkly- which the crapola photo obviously doesn't show!)

What are you upto this weekend? I'm off to southampton tonight to see my girlies for a good night out (long overdue!) then on saturday off to London's O2 arena to see Glee! (Again!) I bought my little sister tickets for her birthday (not until next month but hey!) I loved the show so much in LA and my little sister is such a huge fan I needed to get them for her!

Apologies again for the awfulness of the photos, they were taken by photobooth (not the highest quality camera out there!) If any one can recommend me a good, sturdy camera that can tolerate being used regularly by a constantly drunk 20-year old, then please let me know the make and model, i'm willing to pay anything, I'm sure it will save me (and my long suffering parents [camera's are a xmas pressie regular]) a lot in the long run!

I don't know if you'd yet picked up on my love for the US of A? Well if you hadn't let me recap for you:

aged 8- Florida, aged 13- Florida, aged 16- California, aged 17- California, aged 18- California, aged 20 (this year!)- California

Ok there is no pattern there but my love for America has been brewing up in side me for the past 12 years! In the last 4 years I have been visiting and staying with family in California, they live about 45 minutes outside of Los Angeles in a place called Thousand Oaks (Will Smith has a huuuuuge house nearby), but this year I'm going to be staying actually in LA with my cousin who's just got her own place.... ANYWAY back to the post Alana... 

However sad this sounds, the first time I ever saw this necklace I fell in love. 

This necklace is by Maya Brenner Designs. It currently costs $300 in 14K Gold or $160 for sterling silver. The diamond is optional, but the cute thing about it is that you can have it moved to anywhere around the state line, which I think is a nice touch!

this week I kinda took a step back from social media (twitter/faceyb/blogging) and I actually focussed on some uni work for once. the illness last week set me back quite at bit, so got to get back on track! 

here's a glimpse of my outfit from yesterday :)

yesterday I traipsed around southampton all day, ate a nandos YUM (we had a full platter between three of us and I was stuffed- Medium chicken of course with peri chips!) 

when I got home I was feeling the nandos, so i decided to go for a jog, I ran 0.8 miles and then back again, so 1.6miles overall. apparently if you do a mile in 15 mins then this burns upto 590 calories- nice bit! anyone got any great fast fast songs they listen to when running? i made a playlist but it ended up being quite full of drum&bass, which is alright but i wanted a mix! 

tonight, my friend is having a party to celebrate her 21st birthday, so off we go to vodka revs for canapes and alcohol, I hope you have a fabulous night whatever you're doing!

my weakness used to be handbags, however i've slowly noticed the hassle and time consuming effort of changing and swapping your purse (& keys & diary & make up bag & ipod & other loose items) from one bag to another every.single.time you wear a different colour (i'm a BIG colour co-ordination freak), since this realisation i've gone off buying hundreds of different cheap bags and now invest in staple bags.

jewellery is now 'my thing'. 

i have tonnes, i'm a human magpie for anything shiny and on sale. my favourite sales are the topshop 'freedom', and miss selfridge 'diva' collections, the pieces go down in price soooo much, some of my all time favourite jewellery cost like a quid from topshop. 

this little (or should i say chunky) necklace i've got on is from new look, i spotted it hanging off of their messy jewellery sale stand with a makeshift label stuck on.

Have you got any magpie finds that you wear regularly/constantly or just cherish but were dirt cheap?

 i know Michelle has a necklace she got from Urban Outfitters for like 9p or something so utterly fabulously ridiculously...
