HELLO! How the devil are you? It's been such a long time since I last wrote on here, and SO much has happened since then! First and foremost I've been craaaaazyyyyy busy lately, working full-time at a PR company in London, I'm taking a year out of uni to get some work experience. The job is amazing, it's taken me to LA (twice) & NYC so far! 

I may not have been blogging and commenting but I have been reading all of your blogs daily! I'm back now for a week until I head off abroad for Christmas, but in the New Year full blogging shall resume! Take care of yourselves! XOXO AVS

Hello beautiful chica's! It's been so long!  

I've honestly never been so busy; working at the PR company, spending my hard earned wages, partying- I'm really loving living in the new house with my girlies.

This is us before a night out this week, we go out SO often here, so a lot of outfits are needed,

which of course is quite stressful... I absolutely adore both Katie & Mel's outfits here, absolutely adore the Bright jeans trend (you may have seen Ray's post about them here) and Mel's dress is so gorgeous, it has these sheer panels on the waist area (but you can't see them because my stupid image) 

Oh so I'm going back to LA in 2 weeks exactly. Whoopaaaa. So many plans for it: working at the Playboy Mansion party, visiting San Francisco & San Diego, hitting up Venice Beach (I haven't been for a few years, and it's one of my favourite places in CA). AHHH, if you have any suggestions of where I should visit, let me know....

I bought a packet of studs on ebay the other day for like £1.50, so when they arrived I did the most natural thing one should do with a packet of studs....put them on levi's.

Yes, this is my boooootay, and yes the studs are really randomly placed. I was gonna do a two line thingy at the top of the pocket but just carried on until i ran out. hmmm. i'm gonna take some off, and do something different but just wanted to show you asap. have you studded your levi's? XOXO AVS

hair-spiration

I'm currently in a hair-rut. It's ombre-ing itself (i.e. posh word for ROOTS-ew). I want to go lighter for the summer, gone is winter and with it the purple and deep red hair. I'm feeling the ginger vibe at the moment. But as I'm not quite brave enough to go a traffic light orange on my head just yet, I'm thinking a light brown, or how about this Rich Caramel colour........

terrible joke.

on friday night i went down to southampton to visit my gorgeous/sexy/amazing/all of the above, housemates. we went to revs for happy hour (which lasted 3 hours and involved 4 strawberry mojitos & a plate of nachos) went home, got changed and hit junk and it was alllllriiiiight.  we were home by 2am with our cheesy chips. was laaaaaaavly.

last night me and my gorgeous sister hit up the O2 for GLEE! it was beyond great. she loved every second of it and we had well good seats so that was pretty major.

One thing I went completely crazy for in America was F21, I literally loved everything about it, the way they merchandise, the layout of their stores, the variation of products between stores, but most of all how cheap it was! Not one of these necklaces below cost more than $7. How insane is that? One of them cost $4.80. I mean hellloooooooo how could you not spend $100s?? 

My favourite by far has to be the blue cross, followed by the purple stone (it is all glittery and sparkly- which the crapola photo obviously doesn't show!)

What are you upto this weekend? I'm off to southampton tonight to see my girlies for a good night out (long overdue!) then on saturday off to London's O2 arena to see Glee! (Again!) I bought my little sister tickets for her birthday (not until next month but hey!) I loved the show so much in LA and my little sister is such a huge fan I needed to get them for her!

Apologies again for the awfulness of the photos, they were taken by photobooth (not the highest quality camera out there!) If any one can recommend me a good, sturdy camera that can tolerate being used regularly by a constantly drunk 20-year old, then please let me know the make and model, i'm willing to pay anything, I'm sure it will save me (and my long suffering parents [camera's are a xmas pressie regular]) a lot in the long run!

growing up & out

This is my annoying fringe-growing-out stage.... I wasn't feeling the blunt fringe anymore, but the growing them out is such a bitch! I've been plaiting them quite a bit, but I think I can cope with this for now!

*This is just a quick one, so apologies for the hickle-de-pickle-de-ness of it!*

...So what's happened in the past week since I last blogged? Well, I found out I had a viral ear infection, the reason why I was constantly nauseous and dizzy and had the balance of a drunk 90 year old. Therefore the exercise regime took a big hit, any vigorous exercise was highly unrecommended unless I wanted to faint. 

OH funny story- I fell over on one of those moving travelators in London. HA. woman asked me if i was drunk... "errr lady, it's 10am in the morning! I am  not drunk!" 

Anywho, I'm working in London a few days a week (then the rest at home) at the PR company I interned for in LA, it's going great, I love getting all dressed up for work in the big city! It makes me feel very old! haha. 

I tried to take some pictures the other day of outfits and new jewels but my camera refuses to focus, I have the worst luck with cameras EVER. eurgh.

In the meantime I advise you to watch the trailer for the new film 'Bridesmaids'! I saw it last month in LA and let me tell you, IT'S HILARIOUS. I can't wait to go see it again with my mum, and then my best friends, and then random strangers and their neighbours. It was honestly one of the funniest films I've seen since the Hangover.  Enjoy ladies! XOXO AVS

HELP!

SOMEONE please tell me why blogger is being such a bitch today and not uploading videos or images?

THE dilemma.

When I was younger I read somewhere that Gymnast's retired at the age of 19 or somewhere very near because their bodies would never be in such good shape again. Apparently age 19 is your prime. So I always though that at 19 I would be my ideal weight, shape, size etc... 

Well I got to 18 and I still had some minor issues, "I've got another year 'til I'm 19 no biggy". 

Then I got to 19 and thought "I've got a year to sort it before I'm 20". 

Now I'm 20 and I'm like "what was I playing at putting it off?"... 

Getting fit and healthy and being body confident isn't that far away if I really want it badly enough. I don't have that much weight that I want to shift, it's more toning up that I'm after. So after seeing Glee!  Live in Concert @ The Staples centre in LA (which was uh-maziiiing by the way!), and seeing in the flesh Heather Morris's amazing body, when I saw her on the cover of Women's Health  I didn't hesitate to pick up the issue to see how I could achieve a body like hers... 

When I looked down at the checkout however I noticed a huge contradiction in my purchases- back went the M&M's and Peach Jelly's. When we got to my cousin's house I went straight to my laptop and clicked onto Amazon.co.uk. Within 5 minutes I'd ordered Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. The DVD was only £5.93, a total bargain if you ask me. 

I did Day One of the shred yesterday, (as well as the start of my healthy eating) and it was incredible. Don't get me wrong it was challenging and sweat inducing but I wanted to carry on exercising after it was over! 

I'm basically writing this post so that I can't back out of this 30 day challenge now. Corrie & Michelle are both doing it and they're already seeing results! (If you have any questions, I'm sure they'd be happy to answer them, they're further along than me!) 

I'm also keeping a food diary, which is including my water intake. I've realised I don't drink half as much as I should a day so I've bought two 1litre bottles of Buxton water, and fill them each night and put them in the fridge.

culture shock.

I never thought the day would come where I could relate my own personal experiences to the terribly boring work I did last term at University, but it has. 

Since I've been back from LA I've been in some sort of weird depression, which is also known as re-entry shock. After spending so long in another place, re-entering into your previous culture can be, a tad tricky lets say. I've gotten dressed twice in the past 4 days and the only time I left the house was to go to a PR event in London (there was a free bar- no one was keeping me away)

Today however, is the day when I admit the fact to myself that I'm not in California anymore, I am well and truly in England. But before I focus on the here and now entirely here's what I'm missing from my trip.... 

My uh-mazing cousin, Adrian. It was here birthday yesterday and I'm gutted I wasn't there :(

THE FOOD: Where do I start? Yes there are all those hideously unhealthy fast food restaurants but you can also live a very healthy lifestyle. LA caters for all needs....

Every Saturday on her lunch break, me and my cousin would head off to Corner Bakery, a delicious place for breakfast, lunch or a snack.

My Focus now is to get saving, and head back to LA for a week or two in September before I go back to Uni for what looks like the hardest most intense year of my life. 

So, I'm off to get dressed, which is actually quite fun now I have all these gorgeous clothes from America, and yes I'm aware of the fact its nearly 1pm. But it's a saturday. Cut me some slack haha. Have a great weekend! XOXO AVS

HEY THERE! 

How are you lovely ladies doing? 

I've missed y'all soooo much (yes got my american-ism's in already haha!) 

SO, here's the dealio, I ended up staying out in LA for an extra 10 days. Was loving life wayyy too much to end my trip just yet, so I changed my flight, worked a little longer at the PR company, partied a little harder and shopped a little more. All in all an ah-mayyyyziiing trip. 

Oh, and I got offered a position at the company for when I graduate. What more motivation could I want to get the next year of Uni done & dusted?

Being in LA taught me so much, the people I was working with day in, day out, all loved their jobs and were following their dreams, it was so refreshing to be around. Here in England honestly how many people can say they are doing a job because they love it? Not as many as I noticed in California, that's for sure. 

So from today on I'm #FOLLOWINGMYBLISS. I will do things that are going to make me happy and help me to achieve my goal in life- living & loving in the USA. (California to be precise. LA to be even more precise.)

Tomorrow I'll be posting some of my gorgeous items of clothing that I picked up from various malls, Melrose Ave, Santa Monica, etc etc... I'll also get back onto commenting blogs, I was reading them whilst I was away (whilst at work naughty naughty) but couldn't comment as much as I would have liked to.

I purchased both this morning. These shoes are half the heel size, making them perfect for long days out and about. I plan on wearing the black ones with skinnies, oversized logo tees & a leather jacket. The tan ones will be worn with summery floral dresses and denim jackets.

Royal Wedding.

 Kate entering Westminster Abbey, she later left as the Duchess of Cambridge and the Wife of the future King of England. 

Catherine is so beautiful, she didn't disappoint. So stunning, so understated, so classy. I look forward to watching her style journey as a Duchess to future Queen. 

Kate's sister, Pippa, also looked absolutely stunning, however she didn't quite manage to upstage the bride (which was obviously never an option). Pippa was also wearing Alexander McQueen (Pre-fall 2009).

fruit twist.

Yo, I've just got home from a few days in Southampton, it was lovely spending the majority of my time with my loved ones (only a little was spent doing uni work-oops!).

I went out last night to a club, I can't bring myself to type the name of the club but let me put it this way, it's very well known, a large chain and completely commercial. 

This is what I wore... (added bonus, you get to see what Beth wore aswell)

I wore: Primark sheer shirt, Primark belt, Topshop shorts, New Look platform wedges, Dorothy Perkins multi-chain necklace. Beth wore: New look dress, Primark bag & belt. 

I'm completely shattered and its only 9pm, what a grandma! I have a LOT of uni work to do these next few days, however I will no doubt spend the whole of tomorrow watching the Royal Wedding Festivities (My mum is even making bunting as we speak). 

Will you be watching? No offence if you are one of these people, but the guys and girls out there saying that they 'don't care whatsoever about the wedding' are totally mean! This country is just filled with doom & gloom day in day out, and let's face it bloody Eastenders doesn't help (lol- I just mentioned eastenders on my blog, saddo) The Royal Family is a British institution, they are the epitome of everything classy about this country, and for you's moaning about 'The Tax Payers money being used for security', have you sat and thought about how much tourism the Royal Family attract to England every year? (Wow, rant over, I do apologise!)

The title of the post has no relation to anything whatsoever apart from the fact that I am drinking a bottle of Fanta as I type. Yum.

I'm going to Los Angeles this summer to do work experience with a Publicist Agency that specialises in British Talent in America. The previous plan was to go to LA in July- that plan has now changed. 

I'm going in 2 weeks! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Booked the flight this morning, and leave two weeks tomorrow! W.O.W oh so excited! I have lots and lots of things suddenly added to my wish/shopping/reality list! I'm probably going to post some form of an outfit tomorrow, so please bear/bare with me in the meantime! Love you all lots! XOXO AVS

from rags to riches

I'm in Southampton this week and left my camera at my friends house back at home, so unfortunately no outfit posts or anything. If you're a student, then you'll know that student loans come in next week (or if you're REALLY lucky, this week). I've been broke for like the last 3 months, yes the last loan was only 4 months ago, what can I say I'm not very well organised with money! I've been thinking about all the things I need to do with my loan: summer rent for my new house, spending money for LA, work clothes for LA, etc etc so I *really* want to be well organised with my money this term. So, I've made a list. My list is of the things I've wanted for a while and/or basics. Let me explain...

Topshop shorts- You may have seen in this post that I love these shorts, well that fire is still burning bright. I cannot wait to own a pair of these beauts, they will be worn everywhere all summer.

Benefit & Mac Make up- I'm not a big make-up freak, mainly because I don't even know how to apply make up very well. So whilst I have money I want to invest in some decent bits, I think I'm gonna go for a Mac make up sesh/mini makeover (I went to a Benefit one the other day hence why these items are on my wishlist) 

F21 Floral romper- Playsuits are definitely the way forward this summer, simple and easy to accessorise, I'll be teaming mine with a light cardi or sleeveless denim jacket, some gladiator sandals and some bangles. 

Leopard Vans- I'm not sure if I quite want the leopard print ones (they're a tad garish, but I'm a sucker for anything leopard!) But I do want some vans this summer to give my look a casual edge.

Katy Perry OPI- no need to explain, this varnish is just gorgeous!

ASOS Satchel- This summer it's all about having a pop of colour and this satchel will make and outfit complete.

beach attire

I really hate posting terrible quality photos on here, but then when I went to write a image-less post I thought how craptastic it would be, no image to take your mind off of my terrible writing style... 

This is the outfit that I wore to the beach yesterday, it was oh so hot by the coast, I have a lovely glow to my skin now :) oh I do love getting a nice free tan. 

My skirt and vest are both from Primark (both like 5 years old!), and the belt is from Topshop, I wore a pair of tan gladiators with this outfit (if you were wondering...) 

Anywho today I am going to see my girlywirl, Sinitta, going to pop to town and borrow some clothes from her for my trip down to southampton. 

Yesterday I started reading the 1st of the 3 Lauren Conrad 'novels', LA Candy. At first I wasn't to impressed but as the pages went on I started to get a teeny bit hooked (Sinitta read the first 2 in a week-dedication!) The characters are so cliche, but it's really a dream-come-true kinda book.

Its made me think about my impending trip to LA as well, and the clothes I'm going to wear and what I'm going to do in my time off out there. I'm thinking of turning my current tumblr into all things LA, so look out for that. 

Also, any health conscious girls out there, what TASTY (tasty being the operative), filling, low-calorie snacks can I munch on? I'm debating whether to do no carb or low calorie? I want to tone up so have been doing sit ups and a bit of running, but my diet is appauling... any tips?  XOXO AVS

on sunny days like these...

Spending time with your best friends on beautiful hot days is the best thing. Lounging about gossiping, drinking ice cold cocktails, having picnics in the park, walking the dog, sitting on the beach, borrowing each others summer clothes... 

Yesterday myself, Alice and Sinitta met up and went and did all the things above! This is what we wore (great photog skills from me in the first picture, terrible ones from Sinitta in the second!)

Alice wore: H&M black maxi dress, Topshop crochet cardi, ASOS trilby, ASOS shoes, Vintage bag.

Sinitta wore: H&M striped maxi dress, Topshop skinny belt, Superdry sunglasses, Topshop Hat

I wore: Primark vest, shorts & sandals, Topshop belt, Louis Vuitton handbag (handed down from my aunt!) 

Hindsight, I see my outfit and I don't like it as much, it needs an injection of colour... But it was nice to get a tan on my leggys whilst the girls were moaning about being covered up. Tomorrow will feature some colour! 

Tonight I am going to continue with my 'women in banking' essay WHOOPEEEE! (naaaaat- borat styley.) Then monday or tuesday (undecided at the mo!) I'm popping down to southampton to see the southy girls! Mish, wanna go for a cawfeeeeee??

Working 9-5, what a way to make a living.

In my world there is no 9-5...

There's a 5-2, a 9-6, or a 11-8... That's no way to make a living! 

Today I had my first morning shift at KG, I woke up at 3am and it's now 3.45pm and surprisingly I'm still awake. I'm loving working at the shop, selling something I love whilst talking to all the excited people off on their holidays, talk about job satisfaction haha.  :) 

The ONLY downside of the job (and I mean only; I can deal with the 4 flights of stairs for each pair of shoes a customer wants to try on; I can deal with catching the bus at 4am) is that wearing heels is compulsory at KG. Now if you know me then you'll know that when I go out even if everyone else is wearing flats, I'll be that girl strolling around in the heels; I just hate wearing flats. BUT when you are on your feet for 8+ hours solid then heels are a nightmare, combine that with the 50 times up and down the stairs (no need for gym membership, bum and legs are toned for free!!!) at the end of the day, my feet HURT. Like excruciating pain! (If anyone has any tips for preventing this- chuck 'em my way please!)

These are my new work shoes, they make look a little 'frumpy' or not so sexy but they're practical for me. They're a 3.9inch heel, but they have a teeny platform to make them more comfortable for moi! And I love the contrast of the patent platform and strap to the suede part of the shoe. Sounds like I'm trying to sell them to you! Haha! 

Sorry that this post has been entirely about KG + work, I haven't really had much of a life at the moment as I've been working (clocked up 36 hours in the past 4 days- go me! got myself some nifty commission too!)  I have one more early tomorrow then I can actually start wearing non-uniform clothes again and maybe get some outfit photos up for you girls!

WILDEST WEDNESDAY WISHES (WWW: 13/04/11)

Bonjour ladies! It's Wednesday, that means Wildest Wednesday Wishes! This week, I'm wishing for a lovely holiday away from all this terrible Uni work! Ibiza would be my dream holiday destination right now; me and my bestie have been talking about booking a late one next month after we get our student loans!  

You always see in magazines these glam beach side outfits; and I know for one, I would NEVER dream of wearing heels on a beach. But for this little wish,  seeing as it's quite elaborate I thought I'd go all out! And what better footwear to go with than KG! Yeah, I start the job on Friday and will be purchasing my work shoes shortly after, so when I do I'll show you my 50% off beauts ;)

Uni work has been smothering me, I haven't ventured out of the house properly since Monday (that includes getting dressed & putting make up on) and don't intend to until Friday morning when I set off for my first day at KG! Have a lovely day girls! Oh and hey hey to the new followers :) XOXO AVS

"place ya bets please"

I'm sure you may have heard that the Grand National was on this weekend, at 4:10 (5 minutes before the race started) me and my pal stumbled upon a bookies, 'why not have a cheeky flutter we thought'! 

In we ran to put down our bets, I only put down £2 on one horse for 'each way' (apparently this means it if comes first or second then you win some dosh)... well that little beaut came in 1st! So I walked out £17 richer haha! 

Straight off to the shops I went....

All in all I was quite happy with my little purchases, I wore my Kristin's to my job interview with some killer wedges and a blouse (and got the job remember, so if you want any tips, you know where to come ;) haha JOKING!) 

Sugabomb is delightful, its got a real cute irredescent shine to it, and you cant choose two different colours out of the four at a time for different looks!

spring in my step (and wardrobe)...

Bonjour strangers! How ya doodlin'? Right, a lot has changed since we last spoke... I've now moved home for summer, no more Southy nights out for a while (or until the next special occasion).. I've got a hell of a lot of Uni work to be doing, something like 8 units to complete (SHIT)... I've been slightly more inspired lately, with the beautiful weather so I've been reading blogs again and buying a few bits of gorgeous clothing and accessories... 

In other news; I got a job at Kurt Geiger! I had the interview on Saturday and wasn't meant to hear back for at least 6 days but the manager called me yesterday to offer me the job!

Yesterday I went out to celebrate my new job with my famalam, this is what I wore.... 

I wanted to pull my hair off of my face and neck because the sun was soooo hot and no one likes a sweaty neck do they!! So I popped my hair into the doughnut thingy thing, (it's a godsend!) Whacked on my new £9 Primark maxi dress, a multiple chain gold necklace from Dorothy Perkins that I got in the sale for half price (from £12 to £6)

Alriiiiight, so you may have seen on my saturday summary that I was loving the american flag shorts- I found this picture of Ke$ha rocking them too! I love love love them! I think ke$ha has such a bad gal attitude, I'm not a fan of the blue lips but I love everything else in the outfit. I'm all about summer right now, today is apparently the last day of this gorgeous weather so I'm trying to get myself as excited as possible now... What are you girls going to be wearing this summer?

♥ Essex is back!!! I'm shamelessy addicted to the trashy programme! The orange-ness of the girls is insane! I think Amy is beyond ridiculous, very attractive, but so dumb! (don't get me started on my dislike for Mark Wright) it's just hideously addictive and cringey! 

♥ Fishtail plaited Katie's hair the other day, I think it looks laaavly, wish I had long hair :( 

♥ Jamie Chung attended the LA Premier of Sucker Punch this week. She wore a beautiful, yellow dress from the Giambattista Valli Spring 2011 collection. Stunning is one word to describe her look! Perfection would be another.... 

♥ The drinks menu at Revolution; this summer they are going for a Royal theme. Me and my friend Dee went to the Southampton Bar the other day to collect our free cocktail, 'The Kings Peach' (If you have a iPhone- download the app 'Vouchercloud' asap, and you can claim yours too!) Other cocktails include 'The Royal Wedding'. 

♥ These shorts are absolutely gorgeous and I want, want, want them! I have no clue where one would even buy them from, so if you have any tips, write below in the comment box girlies! 

♥ I downloaded the sonic app weeks ago and only just got to the second level the other day. I was so proud. 

♥ Yesterday I went to Sindy's, and we took Simba for a walk Simba took me for a walk........ 

♥ Centre text: This week has taught me this message, I saw one of my best friends so upset, so I wanted to remind you girls that (in the words of Pussycat Dolls) we "don't need a man to make it [happiness] happen."

What are you upto today? I'm doing lots of uni work, have a week of tutorials for essays and reports due in next month as well as a presentation on "The Effectiveness and Benefits of a consist Corporate Identity" the only thing keeping me going is the fact that my case study is Christian Dior, so I keep getting distracted and looking at beautiful clothes haha.
