work attire #4 : Leather Collar Worker

Finally settling into my new job, it is VERY different from my old one. For a start I can have an extra few hours lay in thanks to the 20 minute drive to work opposed to the 1.5 hour train joruney to work!

 

The office is much more casual than my previous job so my outfits are due to get more relaxed as I go on! In my first week I wore skirts, lots of black and heels. I'm currently sitting here in a big chunky knit jumper and jeans!

 

A HUGE thank you to you lovely 200 girls who now follow my blog. It only took me 2 years to reach this milestone but we did it! Thanks girls!

Girls night out always sends a chill down my spine. I have some of the best dressed girls known to man as Best Friends and I always panic that my look isn't going to be on par. Solution: borrow clothes from said Best Friends. This dress is borrowed from my gurl SinCity (muchos gracias babes). It's a H&M beaut bargain that she bought for only £12.99! 

The dress really does accentuate my curvy bod/bum and I kind of like it. Hey! Gotta love the skin you're in. 

In other news, I found a similar dress to the one I was looking for! It was found on ebay and one won the auction. Super excited to receive it and recreate the Nasty Gal look, along with the armlet that I've bought. My ebay jewellery addiction is definitely reaching new heights, on my recently purchased items out of about 20, 18 are jewels. I bought a two Nicole Richie inspired necklaces, they came in the post today and whilst I love the pendant part of one of them, the chain is super tacky/cheap looking gold so I'll be getting a new longer chain for it. 

What are your favourite ebay jewellery buys at the moment? Are there any ebay shops that you buy from regularly?

sky high heels for a night of dancing.

Hellloooo. How's it going?! Happy HUMPDAY! (the weekend is near girls....) I love Wednesday because that means I can officially start planning the weekend... Although there are a few things that I really wanted to do, that are virtually impossible thanks to lack of funds :( (LEEDS BLOGGER MEET UP included). Gutted. Always wanted to go to Harvey Nichols. 

So, enough about this weekend and what I can't do, here's a quick snap of an outfit I wore out last weekend for a night of dancing and drinking with the girls.

Hello beautiful chica's! It's been so long!  

I've honestly never been so busy; working at the PR company, spending my hard earned wages, partying- I'm really loving living in the new house with my girlies.

This is us before a night out this week, we go out SO often here, so a lot of outfits are needed,

which of course is quite stressful... I absolutely adore both Katie & Mel's outfits here, absolutely adore the Bright jeans trend (you may have seen Ray's post about them here) and Mel's dress is so gorgeous, it has these sheer panels on the waist area (but you can't see them because my stupid image) 

Oh so I'm going back to LA in 2 weeks exactly. Whoopaaaa. So many plans for it: working at the Playboy Mansion party, visiting San Francisco & San Diego, hitting up Venice Beach (I haven't been for a few years, and it's one of my favourite places in CA). AHHH, if you have any suggestions of where I should visit, let me know....

I bought a packet of studs on ebay the other day for like £1.50, so when they arrived I did the most natural thing one should do with a packet of studs....put them on levi's.

Yes, this is my boooootay, and yes the studs are really randomly placed. I was gonna do a two line thingy at the top of the pocket but just carried on until i ran out. hmmm. i'm gonna take some off, and do something different but just wanted to show you asap. have you studded your levi's? XOXO AVS

on friday night i went down to southampton to visit my gorgeous/sexy/amazing/all of the above, housemates. we went to revs for happy hour (which lasted 3 hours and involved 4 strawberry mojitos & a plate of nachos) went home, got changed and hit junk and it was alllllriiiiight.  we were home by 2am with our cheesy chips. was laaaaaaavly.

last night me and my gorgeous sister hit up the O2 for GLEE! it was beyond great. she loved every second of it and we had well good seats so that was pretty major.

Yo, I've just got home from a few days in Southampton, it was lovely spending the majority of my time with my loved ones (only a little was spent doing uni work-oops!).

I went out last night to a club, I can't bring myself to type the name of the club but let me put it this way, it's very well known, a large chain and completely commercial. 

This is what I wore... (added bonus, you get to see what Beth wore aswell)

I wore: Primark sheer shirt, Primark belt, Topshop shorts, New Look platform wedges, Dorothy Perkins multi-chain necklace. Beth wore: New look dress, Primark bag & belt. 

I'm completely shattered and its only 9pm, what a grandma! I have a LOT of uni work to do these next few days, however I will no doubt spend the whole of tomorrow watching the Royal Wedding Festivities (My mum is even making bunting as we speak). 

Will you be watching? No offence if you are one of these people, but the guys and girls out there saying that they 'don't care whatsoever about the wedding' are totally mean! This country is just filled with doom & gloom day in day out, and let's face it bloody Eastenders doesn't help (lol- I just mentioned eastenders on my blog, saddo) The Royal Family is a British institution, they are the epitome of everything classy about this country, and for you's moaning about 'The Tax Payers money being used for security', have you sat and thought about how much tourism the Royal Family attract to England every year? (Wow, rant over, I do apologise!)

The title of the post has no relation to anything whatsoever apart from the fact that I am drinking a bottle of Fanta as I type. Yum.

on sunny days like these...

Spending time with your best friends on beautiful hot days is the best thing. Lounging about gossiping, drinking ice cold cocktails, having picnics in the park, walking the dog, sitting on the beach, borrowing each others summer clothes... 

Yesterday myself, Alice and Sinitta met up and went and did all the things above! This is what we wore (great photog skills from me in the first picture, terrible ones from Sinitta in the second!)

Alice wore: H&M black maxi dress, Topshop crochet cardi, ASOS trilby, ASOS shoes, Vintage bag.

Sinitta wore: H&M striped maxi dress, Topshop skinny belt, Superdry sunglasses, Topshop Hat

I wore: Primark vest, shorts & sandals, Topshop belt, Louis Vuitton handbag (handed down from my aunt!) 

Hindsight, I see my outfit and I don't like it as much, it needs an injection of colour... But it was nice to get a tan on my leggys whilst the girls were moaning about being covered up. Tomorrow will feature some colour! 

Tonight I am going to continue with my 'women in banking' essay WHOOPEEEE! (naaaaat- borat styley.) Then monday or tuesday (undecided at the mo!) I'm popping down to southampton to see the southy girls! Mish, wanna go for a cawfeeeeee??

yellowwwww girlies! eurgh, its monday again. another week of university lectures and 5 whole days until the weekend! boo. on a brighter note its really sunny out today, which makes life seem a bit better haha. 

On thursday I kinda created this top (I was gonna wear it out for st pads, but decided not to in the end.) Inspired by the countless versions I've seen on tumblr and considering I'm on a no spending thing at the mo, I thought I'd create myself something new to wear out. It only took me like 20 mins, and I had to do it by hand as my sewing machine is at home. It looks quite wonky but I'll straighten it up when I go home next week.  If you likey, then its so easy to make, I used material that I found in my friends room from when they dressed up as cavemen ha! 

In other news, I had my fringe cut- and I hate it, I don't know what she did differently but me no likey. I'm going home for my dads 40th birthday on friday, for a big family shindig, which should be lovely, although this means missing more work (I was off sick with sinus issues all weekend- promo'ing in the cold isn't good) and trying to find something to wear on my non-exsistent budget.

Do any of you girls know when the clocks go back? I love that day, that extra hour of sunlight makes the world of difference to my mood I think.

yes, i'm wearing that  striped jumper again- it is pretty much my favourite item of clothing at the moment. i'm not liking this fringe with the hair down anymore, so i've taken to wearing it in some gay little bun each day, saves me washing my hair i guess, gone through a most of a can of batiste since i've had the fringe done... haha. so lazy.

※ just about to go to university to do a few hours of study, i can't focus at home for some reason. too many distractions. ※ watched a film called the resident last night- freaky stuff, it starred hillary swank (i believe she also produced it) basically about this doctor who moves into a new apartment, it is beautiful and underpriced, seems too good to be true, well it is. turns out her landlord is actually spying on her and drugging her and doing naaasty stuff to her whilst she sleeps. quite disturbing.  ※ i won a giveaway! wooo, thank you so much to ashley @ The Button Box  i will take some pics when i receive my lovely prizes! i was only saying to michelle the other day that i never win anything! :)  ※ what are your plans for the weekend? i have my muma coming down on saturday, then on sunday my dad and little sisters will be popping down (for a sunday roast no doubt!) miss the famalam so it will be nice to have a weekend full of them!

Bonjourno lovelies! I've seen two people do this ribbon neck-tie thingy, Kirsty and Beth, so I thought I would take inspiration from them and try it myself... I popped down to the fabric land in town and got a metre of this black ribbon for like 40p or something ridiculous like that. Whilst I was in there I was inspired to maybe bring my sewing machine down to Uni and start getting a little more creative again with my clothes (I used to alter loads of dresses and once made myself an Audrey Hepburn LBD for my bestfriends birthday party!)

Today I couldn't be assed to wash my hair so I whacked it up in a bun, perfect as it left the neck area free to be admired haha. A splash of red lippy made this outfit complete (I only found this out when I got home, looked all bland all day now grr.) I wore the denim shirt with skinny jeans, wedge shoesies and a leather jacket! Tonight I am promo'ing so I will be donning my new fur coat (a post to come on that!) to keep warm! 

Ok so I know I always mention it and I do apologise, but I had my telephone meeting with my future work experience boss, Catherine, last night. And basically- I am so freaking excited!!!!!! I am going in June/July, for a minimum of three weeks! My first thought was (no surprise) 'what am I going to wear?!' 

Shopping is obviously going to be second on my list of priorities (after trying to secure myself a job for after my graduation haha), but I want to go out there with a pretty sophisticated suitcase full of clothes, ready for work + play time! (Catherine said she is at events at least 5 nights out of 7!)

I'll be writing quite alot about trends and garments that will be perfect for my adventure to the West Coast of America, if you know of any blogs that focus of LA style (or similar) then please, please, pleeeease LINK ME to them!!!!

H A P P Y . V A L E N T I N E S . D A Y . 

to all of you beautiful girlies reading this! I hope today you are lavished with love- whether that be from a boyfriend or girlfriend, mum or dad, friend or cat! 

If you've read the blog before you'll know that I had a weave put in last month, it was lovely, and I loved having lengthen locks, but after 6 weeks of being treated badly yesterday was the day to say adios! Just before I (when I say 'I', I mean my mum- thanks mum!) took it out, I was in Superdrug and on impulse I brought an XXL Live hair colur (Cyber Purple)... Took the extensions out and whacked in the colour- here's the result: 

Quite dark, washed me out a little, but you know its better than the boring brown colour it was before. In case your wondering no I am not pregnant and piling on the pounds I am just in a very clingy dress (New Look Leopard peter pan collar- I got it for something like £3!!! [Student discount+money of this style dress or something when brought with a pair of shoes!])

My weekend at home was absolutely lovely, I saw went out for drinks on Saturday night (yum yum Malibu+Pineapple) and saw 'Just go with it' with Jennifer Aniston  & Adam Sandler- OMG hilarious. You should definitely go see it :D

in brighter news, i may have just hooked myself up with some BANGING work experience with a PR company in EL-AY. you know, the city of angels. so this summer is all about the west coast baaaaaby!

c'est freak le chic

Hola girlies! A quick post of my outfit today, bought these shoes/booties from Primarni on sunday they were £15 woo, matched my christmas (warehouse) satchel pretty well so I thought why not. Wearing Beth's fur coat again ;) and the geek glasses!  Oh and not forgetting the bru as well haha.

Seeing as I've now presented my three presentations, and only have a 3500 word essay due in for next week I'm treating myself by going out tonight (again) for a few drinkies! Not sure at all what to wear but I'll be sure to take a pic for here!

as promised here is a picture of my thursday night outfit, although if you read the previous post, you'd know i planned on wearing a sheer shirt... this is no sheer shirt! i brought this gorgeous leopard print blazer on my birthday when i went shopping in brighton, it was only £15 (non-sale!)

i'm addicted to leopard print- its my thing. i could make an entire outfit out of leopard print items twice over, i just love how its a classic print and can be worn all year round, season after season. 

also, as you can see i have some gorgeous new booties!!!! they are from toppyshoppy and i got them £40 on sale (down from £80). my housemate, Katie, had them for like a year in navy blue and she's a tiny size 4 feet, my flippers wouldn't have fit in them, so when i saw these in my size, i jumped at the chance of purchasing them! 

incase you're wondering why i didn't wear the sheer shirt, i wanted to wear it with grey jeans and my new booties, but i don't didn't own any! after a tip of from RAY, i went to primarni and picked up a pair of super skinnies for £8! woooo! so next time i go out i'm sorted!

girlies, it was my birthday last week, and now i'm officially old (20! not a teen anymore, boo hoo) nothing has obviously changed physically but maybe this is a time to grow up and accept some responsibility in 2011? well i've taken my New Years Resolutions seriously (last night I chose to stay in and do work over hitting up Kaos), gonna start running with my housemate Beth (she has a new blog- check it!)

i'm going out for a few cheeky glasses of wine tonight with the girls, i know i know i said i wasn't going out but i can't help it, what can i say, i'm a social butterfly! 

(one is aware of how many times one said the term 'i' in that sentence! one is so self absorbed!) 

tonight i'm planning on rocking a sheer h&m shirt that i brought the other day, what shall i wear on my lower half? i'd love to wear grey skinnies but alas i don't own any! (i'll post a pic of what i eventually decide tomorrow!)

Happy New Year girlies, I hope 2011 has been treating you well so far, and you've snapped up lots and lots of goodies in the sales? I've been looking at some of your posts with your purchases in and I'm very jealous about some of them! I've seen some right bargains on your blogs! 

I highly suspect that this picture would have been alright if it had not been blurring and missed out my shoes (but thank you for taking it Beth!). I rocked this look a few days ago, and I've come to discover that I love wearing trousers. These New Look trousers are oh so comfortable, I adore the colour as its very versatile and they were very reasonably priced! 

Uni is very hectic for me at the moment, I have 3 presentations, a 3,500 word essay and a magazine layout+workbook to do before the 18th! Wish me luck! 2011 will hopefully calm down soon!

animal talk...

Going with a big cat theme tonight... Max Power said to me yesterday that it has been a while since he'd made an appearance on ze blog, so here he is last night.  Such a cutie right...? And if you say no then you're a meany! haha. 

This is the outfit I wore out shopping yesterday, the leopard print top is from H&M, Jeans are Primark, wedges are New Look and I topped it all off with a Cape coat from Primark [I haven't posted about it yet but I will :)] I had my hair trimmed yesterday just to freshen it up but I also had a wee fringe did, all prepared for my hair extensions on the 28th. wooooo. 

I got 98% of my christmas shopping done yesterday, and wrapped them all last night! So good, loadsa pressies under the tree. Still got a few bits to get my mum, she's so difficult!

Love what my girly Sindy is wearing, I need the faux fur stole in my life! But I refuse to pay £25 for the one from Topshop when she paid £10 from H&M!!! BOO!

 Brought these cute little wedge heels from New Look on Friday when I was shopping with my bestie Sindy. They were only £24.99... I've been looking for a pair of heeled shoes that I could wear in the day time for ages now and actually went in to New Look to buy a pair of heeled Military boots, I found something much more versatile instead I feel :)

Pre snow, my housemate and I went to the library to hand in some books. I looked like the worlds biggest geek walking round with an arm full of books... it's a look I won't be repeating. 

The fur coat is my other housemates, she brought it from a charity shop (bitch) for something ridic like £6. How unfair. I know it doesn't really go with my outfit but hey, I was desperate to wear it. And my dress I was wearing underneath kinda tied the look together (when the coat was undone)... 

I have two university hand ins tomorrow and I'm not going to lie, they aren't finished. So if you see me blogging again today- shoot me.
